Basic Education
The Basic Education Service provides classes for adults who wish to improve their reading, writing, spelling, maths and basic computers. Learners can work on a
one to one basis or in small groups.
Classes are part-time and tuition times are arranged as far as possible to suit the needs of the learner. Tuition is provided by trained tutors in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
The Service is free & confidential.

Certification
Participants can learn at their own pace and progress to certification level (FETAC, Junior Certificate & Leaving Certificate) if desired.
Specific Programmes
Intensive Tuition: This course runs for 14 weeks, 6 hours per week and offers adults the opportunity to improve their basic skills at a more intensive level.
Workplace Basic Education: The ABE service works with local employers and FÁS to deliver basic education programmes.
Family Learning: This programme supports the basic educational needs of families and helps parents and carers to identify their own learning needs.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL): Basic spoken and written English classes for adults for whom English is not their first language (Fee applies)
Outreach Service: An Outreach Worker based in each centre works in partnership with agencies / services in the community.
