County Kildare VEC is making an application to the Department of Education and Skills to become patron of the new Post-Primary School, Naas – starting 2013. There is an enrolment night for pupils into Naas Community National School on Monday, January 23rd 2012 at 7.30 p.m. Enrolment Form on the website www.naascns.ie
The children from the “Thrushes” class of Pipers’ Hill Community National School were presented with a merit award at the Primary Science Fair in the BT Young Scientist exhibition. The children submitted a proposal in September 2011 and were invited by BT to present their “CSI Pipers Hill” project. Their investigation related to a forensic analysis of a crime scene and their production of a ‘Book of Evidence’. Judges were very impressed and commended highly Andreij Filip, Wyona Russell, Fola Sonekan and Lucy Tuohy for their efforts.
The group were thrilled to have been accepted into the Primary Science Fair upon their first application and are already planning next years submission!

County Kildare VEC is making an application to the Department of Education and Skills to become patron of the new Post-Primary school in Maynooth, starting in 2014.
Last July, the Minister for Education & Skills announced the merger of VECs with a reduction from 33 to 16. Kildare and Wicklow will merge as one VEC. Today the Minister announced that the Head Office for the new VEC structure will be in Naas with a sub-office in Wicklow.
